Trauma program postponed one week

The BBC program Discovery: Trauma will air Monday, October 27th.

In a two part series, Dr. Kevin Fong traces the evolution of trauma medicine from the First World War through to modern day civilian emergency response.

Episode One: A Brief History

In program one Dr. Kevin Fong traces the surprising and dramatic evolution of modern trauma medicine, from the battlefields of the First World War to the emergency rooms of the 21st century.

He meets some of the pioneering medics who have changed the way we deal with extreme injury which has saved countless lives.

From the golden hour to the platinum ten minutes, the milestones in trauma care did not come about after months of considered research on key patients, but were born in the heat of the moment and in the face of terrible events – war, terrorism and mass-casualty accidents. Urgent need and speed have transformed our ability to keep people alive in the most extreme circumstances.
