As the government in Tehran prepares to resume talks on its nuclear programme with the world’s big powers, the BBC’s Middle East Editor Jeremy Bowen takes us on a virtual tour of Iran to experience life under sanctions.

Jeremy has been unable to visit the country for the past six years because the authorities there will not grant him a visa to report. Instead he talks to some of those forced to live with the current sanctions, both those who are thriving – the young rich of north Tehran with their fast cars and parties – and those suffering from shortages and high prices.

With Iran’s economic difficulties compounded by lower oil prices, we look at the world of business, hearing from a tech entrepreneur who returned to Iran despite sanctions, and from the Iranians doing business in neighbouring Dubai.

And, with the help of expert voices from the BBC’s Persian Service and beyond, we debate what the future might look like if the talks succeed and if they fail.
