May 2 special BBC “World Have Your Say” broadcast on Nepal

BBC’s “World Have Your Say” is airing a special live program on Nepal this Saturday, May 2, at 0900 ET.

World Have Your Say: Nepal One Week On

One week on from the earthquake that has devastated one of Asia’s poorest countries, Anu Anand is live in Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, for a special edition of World Have Your Say. We hear the latest from Nepal: on the struggle to bring aid to remote regions and the challenges of trying to reach survivors; about the fears of aftershocks and of epidemics; and about the challenges of coping with the global aid effort passing through a single-runway airport. We talk to those volunteering to help, to survivors of the earthquake, to politicians and aid agencies, as well as to local journalists. What’s their assessment of the disaster relief operation one week on? And what are the main challenges that lie ahead and what are the lessons to be learned from the response to other natural disasters?
