Program description:
We hear from Africans involved in social entrepreneurship – businesses designed to make an impact as well as a profit. African entrepreneurs face a lot of challenges – from the lack of 24/7 electricity, to difficulties getting loans to start a business. We talk to some social entrepreneurs to understand the impact they are making in Africa and find out how they can make their businesses sustainable and scale them up.

Didi Akinyelure is joined in the BBC Radio Theatre, London, by John Walugembe, Founder of Better Livelihoods Uganda; Mary Dinah, Managing Director of Job-link Recruitment Services; and Eric Guichard, CEO of Homestrings. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, CEO of WeCyclers joins them from the BBC studio in Lagos, Nigeria.

Nigerian journalist Didi Akinyelure is the winner of the BBC World Service News Komla Dumor Award 2016 and is undertaking a 3 month placement with the BBC.
