BBC Interim & Winter Schedules, New Programs

There will be one interim schedule week prior to switching to the winter schedule. The interim schedule week is effective Sunday, October 30 through Saturday, November 5. Please note that on Sunday, October 30, Newshour will air at 9:00am ET and 5:00pm ET, instead of 8:00am and 4:00pm ET. All other Newshour broadcasts remain at current times.

The winter schedule begins Sunday, November 6, and will be in effect through March 11, 2017.

New programs on the winter schedule
With the winter schedule, BBC World Service introduces three new weekly programs airing on Saturdays. CrowdScience (30 minutes, starting November 5) takes audience questions about life, Earth and the universe to researchers hunting for answers at the frontiers of knowledge. BBC World Hacks (30 minutes, starting November 12) takes on the big problems of our time through the lens of possibility, asking is it possible to just hack issues like the refugee crisis, air pollution or inequality? In, 50 Things That Made the Modern Economy, (9-minute segment, starting November 5) economist Tim Harford tells the fascinating and often surprising stories of 50 inventions, ideas and innovations which have helped create the economic world in which all of us now live.
