1) World Have Your Say for April 22 – President Obama and the EU Referendum Debate
On today’s World Have Your Say we’ll have live coverage of US President Barack Obama’s visit to Britain and his press conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron.
Ahead of a crucial referendum in Britain on its membership of the European Union, the US President has already made a strong case in the British media for Britain to stay within the EU. At today’s press conference, President Obama is expected to re-state his support for the British Prime Minister’s position. He has warned that leaving the EU would make Britain less able to tackle terrorism, economic problems and the migrant crisis. But his intervention has already been criticised strongly by leading British politicians who argue Britain would be better off outside the EU.
On today’s World Have Your Say, Chloe Tilley will be asking British people and others what impact the US President’s intervention will have. Will he change how people vote? Is he interfering in domestic British politics? And is the US President right to argue that American troop casualties in World War 2 give America a stake in Britain’s ‘stay or leave the EU’ referendum debate?
