Marketplace Examines ‘Divided Decade’

2018 marks the ten-year anniversary of the financial crisis. Marketplace’s new year-long series – Divided Decade – will examine how the crisis and its aftermath have changed America economically and culturally.

Throughout the year – and across the program portfolio – Marketplace will explore what happened, why, and how the events of 2008 continue to influence our daily lives and our future in changing economic times.

The Divided Decade kicks off today – the anniversary of an extraordinary emergency Fed meeting – with #HowWeChanged, a series of portraits and stories from cities across the nation, that asks average Americans, “How has the financial crisis changed you?” Stories will be heard on-air beginning January 22, and posted to Marketplace’s Facebook and Instagram Share them with your audience, and encourage them to join the discussion using #HowWeChanged.
