BBC presents The World Vaccination Report June 19

On June 19, the BBC World Service will present The World Vaccination Report – a series of documentaries, debates and analysis from across the globe.

The World Health Organization has made “vaccine hesitancy” – a refusal by some to be vaccinated or to have their children vaccinated – one of the top 10 global health threats of 2019, with the sharpest resistance by young adults in developed countries.

So how should health specialists and society react? One of the stark truths about inoculation is that the more people who have it the less the risk to us all – so what should the relationship be between society and the individual when it comes to risk and health?

Throughout the day the BBC World Service will focus on this important issue across a series of documentaries and news programs, including:

  • The Inquiry: What’s Behind the Anti-Vax Movement? Details TBD

Use these special programs to connect with your audiences – and your local reporting on the challenges and controversies surrounding vaccination.
