2019 BBC Proms programming

We’re thrilled to showcase the most memorable performances of the 2019 BBC Proms, the U.K.’s annual celebration of classical music. Share up to nine weeks of memorable performances from London’s Royal Albert Hall.

All stations:

SymphonyCast will broadcast nine concerts in their entirety, excluding the last night of Proms, which will be cut for time. All concerts will follow the standard SymphonyCast clock (1:59).

Hosted by Julie Amacher, these nine programs are available toall APM affiliate stations, free of charge via ContentDepot, regardless of SymphonyCast carriage. These are regular weekly feeds, and open for all Proms concerts. Promo spots will be also available via ContentDepot.

View our detailed list of weekly broadcasts, from Monday, July 29 through Monday, September 23.

BBC stations:

BBC World Service will broadcast seven specially selected highlight programs of Proms concerts each week, from Saturday, August 3 through Saturday, September 14, with repeats each Sunday.

2019 season highlights include a tribute to Henry Wood (Proms founder, born 150 years ago), the Proms debut of three-time Grammy Award-winner Angélique Kidjo, a performance of Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A Minor 200 years after her birth, and a tribute to Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts created especially for the Proms.

NOTE: These programs will be broadcast on the BBC World Service – so news stations will hear this classical music programming during the regular schedule.

Each hour-long episode will be hosted by a BBC Radio 3 classical music presenter, and feature conversations with special guests on the themes, composers and performers, along with the context in which the music was written and performed. These highlight programs make great complements to the full concerts from SymphonyCast.

These programs are available for broadcast to all current BBC World Service affiliate stations through APM.

Details and downloads for all seven programs are available on the BBC Partners site.
