BBC coverage of the COP26 conference in Glasgow

Climate change is impacting our world, and our ways of living on it. In the lead up to the UN Climate Conference – COP 26 – the BBC World Service will feature a series of programs examining the threat of climate change, and the possible solutions. And throughout the conference we’ll be live from the Scottish city of Glasgow, where world leaders and delegates will meet in a bid to stop the worst consequences.

BBC Minute and Newshour teams will be reporting live on the latest developments and analysis throughout the COP 26 conference assessing how initiatives might be received in those countries which are most vulnerable to climate change, and those economies who rely on polluting industries.

  • Newshour: James Menendez will be co-presenting Newshour from Glasgow at the start of COP 26 from October 31-November 2, where he’ll interview delegates and government representatives from around the world. With Razia Iqbal and Tim Franks in London, aided by BBC Climate Correspondents, Newshour will have complete coverage throughout the summit – including interviews with politicians, climate scientists and activists.
  • BBC Minute: The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow is seen as crucial if climate change is to be brought under control. BBC Minute On brings you the latest developments throughout the conference via 1 minute programs from November 1-12, 2021.

BBC World Service feed: The conference will also be covered throughout the BBC’s other live news programs and newscasts.

Four leading global political figures will come together to take questions from young people in the studio and around the world on the challenges presented by climate change, and the hopes for global solutions to be achieved at the COP climate change meeting.

  • PLEASE NOTE: The program will not follow the normal BBC World Service clock, and the debate will air uninterrupted from 6:06-6:50 p.m. ET (no bottom-of-the-hour breaks).
