‘Splendid’ Host Francis Lam Wins 3 James Beard Awards

Francis Lam, host of The Splendid Table, has won three 2017 James Beard Awards – two for food journalism, one for editing the Book of the Year:

“Eat”: “A Haitian Grandmother’s Home-Cooked Porridge”; “Kimchi Fried Rice, Korean Comfort Food”; and “Casa Calamari” (The New York Times Magazine)

“Recipes with Roots: The True Meaning of Turkey” (Cooking Light)

Francis Lam Nominated for Four James Beard Awards

The Splendid Table‘s new host, Francis Lam, has been nominated for four 2017 James Beard Foundation Journalism Awards. His distinct, down-to-earth style earned nominations in four categories: Food and Culture, Humor, Columns, and the MFK Fisher Distinguished Writing Award.

The winners will be announced at the 2017 James Beard Awards Gala, at Chicago’s Lyric Opera, on Monday, May 1.


‘Splendid’ Host Wins IACP Awards

The Splendid Table‘s new host, Francis Lam, took home two International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) awards last night. The awards honor excellence in food journalism, from cookbooks to digital photography, by global culinary leaders. Lam won for the cookbook he edited, Victuals: An Appalachian Journey, with Recipes ,by Ronni Lundy. He also won a writing award for his food-focused column in The New York Times Magazine, “From Grandmother’s House to Hers; Shamelessly French; Korean Comfort Food; Casa Calamari”.


The Splendid Table Welcomes New Host

After 21 incredible years, Lynne Rossetto Kasper is retiring as the beloved host and co-creator of The Splendid Table. Lynne has dedicated herself to connecting with The Splendid Table‘s loyal audience in a way few hosts have. 

While no one could ever replace Lynne, we’re thrilled to announce our new host, James Beard- and IACP Award-winning food writer and journalist, Francis Lam.

The Splendid Table Joins Forces with America’s Test Kitchen

APM is pleased to share some exciting news ‘for people love to eat’! The Splendid Table has just announced an expansion of its collaboration with America’s Test Kitchen, the most popular how-to-cook show on television. The combined resources of these two trusted brands promises to deliver the highest quality food and cooking content to radio listeners everywhere.

Beginning in January, The Splendid Table (TST) will air weekly America’s Test Kitchen (ATK) segments on its radio show and podcast. Each week, America’s Test Kitchen co-host, Bridget Lancaster, and other ATK personnel will join TST host Lynne Rossetto Kasper to share practical, hands-on culinary expertise. ATK will also provide digital content, such as how-to videos and product reviews, that will appear on TST’s website.
