Last Night of the BBC Proms, September 7th

Last Night of the Proms is coming up, Saturday, September 7th! Join us as Marin Alsop becomes the first female conductor of the Last Night of the Proms, and mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato and violinist Nigel Kennedy join the BBC Symphony Orchestra and BBC Symphony Chorus in a concert that runs from Rossini and Handel arias to a mass sing-along.

New this year: in order to allow stations greater scheduling flexibility, the air window for Last Night of the Proms has been extended by a full day. That means you can bring this musical event to your listeners on the night of Saturday, September 7th or anytime on Sunday, September 8th. Here are the details:

• NOTE: There will not be a live version this year.
• The broadcast will be 2 Hours, 59 minutes long.
• There will be three floating (:60) ID breaks.
• The concert will be post-produced on Saturday, September 7th and made available to stations as a file transfer in seven segments (4 show segments, 3 internal breaks). Files will be delivered to station receivers during the 7pm (ET) hour in time for an 8pm (ET) broadcast.

• The air window for The Last Night of the Proms will close at 3:00am EDT, Monday, September 9th.

Performance Today’s Piano Puzzler is there when you want it

Just a reminder that PT’s Piano Puzzler is available as a stand-alone feature, in addition to being a part of Performance Today. At 11 minutes long, the Piano Puzzler Encore can be easily programmed into any day-part (including morning and evening drive time), giving your station another opportunity to engage your audience with this popular show segment.

This free, 11-minute feature will be available each Wednesday for one week (Wednesday to Wednesday) from the Content Depot, complete with a rundown that includes talking point suggestions for on-air use. Just look for “The Piano Puzzler Encore” in the Content Depot.
