Marketplace’s Kai Ryssdal Interviews Treasury Secretary Jack Lew

On April 24th, Marketplace airs an interview with Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, conducted this morning by Marketplace host and senior editor, Kai Ryssdal.

Secretary Lew spoke to Kai from Detroit where he was promoting job creation and economic growth and observing a government program to remove blighted and abandoned homes.  Lew also discussed recent U.S. sanctions on Russia and what impact they have had on American companies.  In addition, Lew touched on the broader economic issues facing the United States: growth, jobs, unemployment, and international pressures from Europe, China and emerging markets.

The final version of the interview will air on all three feeds (1700, 1800 & 1830) of today’s (Friday, 4/25) Marketplace with Kai Ryssdal.  A special extended version of the interview with embeddable audio player is now available on the Marketplace website.
