BBC World Service coverage of North Korea summit

The second summit between President Trump and North Korea leader takes place in Vietnam this Wednesday, Feb. 27 and Thursday, Feb. 28., with continuing talks about a potential agreement on North Korea’s controversial nuclear weapons program.

Throughout the summit, BBC Newshour will have at least five correspondents reporting in Hanoi, Vietnam to provide coverage of the summit between President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un. Correspondents include Seoul Correspondent Laura Bicker, North America Editor Jon Sopel, State Department Correspondent Barbara Plett Usher, South East Asia Correspondent Jonathan Head, and our Korean Language service.

An official press conference is expected on Thursday.

Here are current Thursday morning coverage plans for the BBC World Service (subject to change, as more details about the press conference are known):

  • 3:06-3:29 a.m. ET: Newsday will report live from Vietnam.
  • 4:06-5:59 a.m.ET: World Update will begin one hour early, with live coverage from Vietnam.

There are currently no planned changes to the BBC World Service clock. Any clock changes will be shared via ContentDepot messages.
