UPDATED: Brexit coverage from BBC World Service: March 12-April 1

If British Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit plan proceeds as scheduled, the United Kingdom will leave the European Union on March 29. BBC World Service will provide coverage of the build up to Brexit and beyond.

Programming details are subject to change as news breaks, and the BBC will cover proceedings as they happen. All changes will be shared via ContentDepot.

Here is the updated plan for Brexit coverage, including schedule changes March 12-13:

Tuesday, March 12: Six hours of special live coverage from the House of Commons, with presenters, correspondents and analysts reporting on the vote expected at 3 p.m. ET.

  • 12:06-2:59 p.m. ET:  Extended edition of BBC OS, with Nuala McGovern live outside the House of Parliament, with all the atmosphere and analysis from experts at the heart of British politics; hear the view from around the U.K. and the rest of Europe. Plus, Nuala will take listeners on a tour of the Palace of Westminster and explain how British politics work. Krupa Padhy will be in the BBC Newsroom, covering the day’s other main international stories, including developments following the crash of the Boeing 737 Max aircraft in Ethiopia. This three-hour program will follow the BBC World Service clock.
  • 3:06-5:59 p.m. ET: Newshour will provide coverage of the key British parliamentary vote on Brexit, following a full day of debate. Tim Franks will host this special edition from outside the British Parliament at Westminster, and will be joined in the program by a cast of expert contributors and British affairs correspondent, Rob Watson. This special edition will follow the Newshour clock unless vote results are announced during breaks at the bottom of the hour. Any changes will be shared via ContentDepot.
  • 6:06-7:29 p.m. ET: Extended edition of The Newsroom will follow the World Service clock, including a short segment on business markets in the first hour.
  • 7:32-7:59 p.m. ET: World Business Report

Wednesday, March 13: Additional reporting and an extra edition of Newsday from 2:06-2:59 a.m. ET (standard clock).

Thursday March 21-Friday, March 22: Newshour will provide full coverage of the last European Summit before Brexit.

Beginning Monday, March 24: BBC World Service will report from locations across the U.K. and Europe throughout the main news programs, including Newshour, World Update, BBC OS and Newsday.

Friday, March 29: Newshour at 4:06-4:59 p.m. ET will be followed by a two-hour news special from 5:06-6:59 p.m. ET. Both programs will focus on Brexit, with the special program covering the moment at 7 p.m. ET (23:00 GMT) when the U.K. will formally withdraw from the E.U.

Saturday, March 30: Newshour will broadcast live from parts of England most likely to be impacted by the change in regulations on trade and movement of people. At 7:06-7:59 a.m. ET, there will be a special call-in edition of BBC OS, where listeners can share their thoughts about the U.K.’s decision.

Sunday, March 31: Tentative, special edition of The Food Chain, exploring food supply and production, and the economics of one of Europe’s most integrated industries. Plus, Brexit will be covered within the main news and business programs on the World Service throughout the weekend.

Monday, April 1: Newsday will be in Europe asking what’s next after the separation and what lies ahead for the remaining 27 states. Newshour and other news programs will continue to provide reporting from Brussels and beyond as the reality of the new situation unfolds for both sides.
