Starting Sunday: New BBC World Service summer schedule

The 2019 BBC World Service summer schedule will be effective this Sunday, March 31 through Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Summer schedule highlights:

  • Core news programs (Newshour, Newsday, BBC OS) remain consistent with previous schedules.
  • The Newsroom will remain consistent, except for the 5 p.m. ET edition, which shifts to 6 p.m. ET as in previous summer schedules.
  • NEW NAME: People Fixing the World
    • BBC World Hacks presents 23 minutes of solutions journalism under a new program name.
    • People Fixing the World presents the big and small problems of our time – and those who are trying to solve them. Presented by an international team of journalists with the courage to challenge, probe, and share the humor and humanity behind positive change.
  • NEWLY UPDATED: 50 More Things That Made the Modern Economy
    • Building on the success of 50 Things That Made the Modern Economy, economist Tim Harford tells the stories of 50 more inventions, ideas and innovations which have helped create the economic world in which all of us now live – including who wins and loses in a 21st century economy.
