- In mid-March, all 7,000 Peace Corps volunteers serving in 60 different countries were called back to the United States because of the coronavirus pandemic. These paid volunteers now face unemployment, a terrible job market, and, for some, tenuous housing situations. Marketplace’s Andy Uhler catches up with some to see how they’re faring upon returning to the U.S.
