·  April 17: Republicans have handed victory after victory to social conservatives on the issue of abortion. But now, with Roe v. Wade overturned and strict new laws in many states, the GOP fears the reckoning it received from voters at the mid-terms will only be amplified in 2024. Is abortion a case of ‘be careful what you wish for’ for the GOP? And if so, what options does the party have?

·  April 18: The Biden administration announced new emission standards for cars and trucks that could mean battery-powered vehicles making up two-thirds of new sales by 2032. But all those new electric vehicles are going to need batteries and many of the minerals that go into those batteries (lithium, nickel and cobalt) are mined and processed in China or by Chinese companies, sometimes in inhumane and dangerous conditions. On Point dives into the geo-political, human rights, and supply chain challenges posed by the Biden administration’s EV push.

·  April 19: At the start of the 2023 baseball season MLB brought in new rules to try to speed up the game, create more action on the field, and make it more enjoyable for fans and hopefully more enticing for non-fans. So, how’s it been going in the first few weeks of the new season? Are the games faster? Have there been moments in games that might not have existed without these new rules. What do the fans make of it?
