Honor Memorial Day with “Dreams of the Fallen”

Our new classical music special, “Dreams of the Fallen: Music of Honor and Remembrance for Memorial Day,” presents a broad variety of music, spoken remembrances, and poetry. Hosted by Steve Seel, this one-hour special features pieces by Jake Runestad, Trinity Choir, Dallas Wind Symphony, the U.S. Marine band, and more, with music of Samuel Barber, J.S. Bach, and Benjamin Britten, among others. The special also features poetry of Brian Turner and Walt Whitman.

Available for broadcast May 5-31.  Learn more.

“Dreams of the Fallen: Music of Honor and Remembrance for Memorial Day,” is a new offering from APM Honors. This subset of the APM Celebrates package covers topics that require more reflection than ‘celebration’, such as Veterans Day. These programs are available as part of the larger package.

New Classical Special Celebrates JFK

Available April 29 – May 31, “From Casals to Camelot: Classical Music and John F. Kennedy” features performances by musicians invited to the White House during JFK’s presidency, as well as music composed in response to the Kennedy assassination, and for JFK events and anniversaries. Preview audio is available April 15.

Hosted by Andrea Blain, this new, one-hour special commemorates the 100th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s birth, and explores how classical music featured during his presidency has become a potent means of remembering an American era that was both hopeful, and tinged with tragedy. Learn more.

Roll Out the Red Carpet for Your Listeners

Just in time for Oscars season, our new special celebrates movie music.

“The Movies & The Music: A history of Oscar-winning film music,” is a three-part, three-hour series featuring the greatest Oscar-winning scores – from the first statuette in 1934 to the present day.

Available through March 1, “The Movies & The Music” offers audiences musical history and context before the red carpet rolls out for The Academy Awards on February 26. Learn more about this latest offering in our APM Celebrates package.

New specials celebrate movie music, honor survivors

This month, we’re pleased to share two new classical music specials:

Available now through March 1, “The Movies & The Music” features movie history and Oscar-winning film scores from the 1930s to today.

Available January 22 through May 1, “Kaddish” features conversations with Holocaust survivors, and works by composers whose lives were, in some way, touched by the Holocaust.
