As a valued Marketplace customer, we wanted to make you aware that Jeremy Hobson, host of Marketplace Morning Report, is leaving effective May 3, 2013, for a new role in public radio as the co-host of Here and Now.

Jeremy has been a smart and engaging presence on Marketplace for six years, first as a reporter in Washington and New York, and then as host of the Morning Report from Los Angeles and New York. As host, Jeremy interviewed all kinds of engaging guests, including such high-profile people as philanthropist Melinda Gates, former Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers and celebrity chef Daniel Boulud.

Jeremy is a talented broadcast journalist, and as sorry as we are about his departure, we’re delighted that public radio listeners will continue to hear him on stations across the country.

Meanwhile, Marketplace Morning Report has never been stronger with a record high six million listeners on more than 400 stations and a dedicated and expert production team with seven hourly feeds providing powerful morning reports covering a range of news including business, finance, economics, technology, as well as global news with the BBC. You can expect this level of programming to continue.

We will be launching a national search for a new host immediately and will share that news with you as soon as we are able.
