The Story presents – After Innocence: Exoneration in America

More than 1,000 American men and women have been freed from wrongful imprisonment since 1989 and every year thousands more attempt to have their cases reconsidered.

June 10th-13th, The Story will be airing a special series exploring the stories of exonerated men and women, now free after losing decades of their lives behind bars.

Additional material will appear on the new-and-improved website, including original video interviews, photographs and data about pending cases.

Series highlights include:

  • Gloria Killian was framed for murder and spent 16 years in prison.
  • Jennifer Thompson’s misidentification sent an innocent man to prison.
  • Scott Hornoff, a police officer wrongly convicted of murder.
  • Greg Hampikian, a DNA expert involved in a number of high profile cases.
  • Janis Puracal fought to release her brother from prison in Nicaragua.
  • Huy Dao of the Innocence Project, who decided which cases to pursue.

Host Dick Gordon is available to stations to discuss the series. If you have any questions, please contact your Station Relations Representative.
