Welfare as We (Don’t) Know It
2016 marks 20 years since the U.S. ended “welfare as we know it” by passing sweeping welfare reform. With this milestone passage of time as the lens, senior correspondent Krissy Clark and the team decided to investigate what welfare is today: because sometimes the things we fight the most about are the things we know the least about.
